The Sciences Po Alumni UK organised a dinner in London last week with Morgan Stanley banker Michael Zaoui, Goldman Sachs’s commodities boss Isabelle Ealet , ex-Lehman banker and now at boutique Ondra Partners’ Benoit d’AngelinSchlumberger family member Bertrand Coste, fomer French Foreign Minister Hubert Védrine, Sciences Po director Richard Descoings , French Ambassador Maurice Gourdault-Montagne, Goldman’s Charles de Croisset and the headhunter Veni’s Stéphane Rambosson.

Dinner-Debate with Leading Economists – 22 June – London

At the Forefront of Regulation and Discrimination studies in France : perspectives from two leading French economists.
 
Sciences Po Professors Yann Algan and Etienne Wasmer are holders of the “Le Monde – Prix du meilleur jeune économiste” prize, Yann Algan in 2009 and Etienne Wasmer in 2006.
 
Etienne Wasmer graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique and completed his PhD at the London School of Economics. He is a one of the most impressive contemporary economist working in the field of Labour Studies. He is director of the PhD studies in Economics at Sciences Po.
 
Yann Algan completed his PhD at Paris 1-Panthéon Sorbonne. In 2007 he wrote La Société de Défiance with Pierre Cahuc and got the LIRE prize for the best French Essay. His research is known to inform public debate in France.
 
Both of them teach the main Economics course at the Undergraduate level at Sciences Po which was taught by Professor Dominique Strauss-Kahn before his appointment at the IMF.
