Born in Neuilly sur Seine, columnist for Lire magazine, and presenter of Cercle on Canal Plus, Frédéric Beigbeder is the author of Vacances dans le coma, L’Amour dure trois ans, (Holiday in a coma and Love lasts three years), 99 francs (£9.99), Windows on the world (Windows on the world), L’Egoïste romantique and Au Secours pardon.

French born Agnès Catherine Poirier moved to London in 1995. She is an independent journalist. As an author she published Les Nouveaux Anglais, Touché! A French woman’s take on the English and Le Modèle anglais: une illusion française.

For its second charity gala, the Sciences-Po Alumni UK Trust organised a dinner at the British Parliament, hosted by MP and former Europe minister Denis MacShane, under the patronage of French ambassador Maurice Gourdault-Montagne and with baron David de Rothschild as guest speaker.

Sciences Po Alumni Charity Gala 2009

The second Sciences Po Alumni UK Charity Gala – on 23 September 2009 – was once again a great success. The evening, under the patronage of the French Ambassador His Exellency Maurice Gourdault-Montagne, was attended by 160 guests at The House of Commons in Westminster – thanks to MP Dennis McShane.

The Sciences Po Alumni UK Charity Trust awarded scholarships to outstanding Sciences-Po students completing their studies at the London School of Economics. This year awards were attributed to Zimbabwean Simiso Velempini (26) and German Viktor Siebert (24).
