The SciencesPo Alumni UK Charity Trust was officially launched on the 25th of September 2008 with a Charity Gala at the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall, London.
The Sciences Po Alumni UK created a UK Charity Trust, which was registered for tax purposes under the reference XT9406 with effect from 8 February 2008.
The trustees are Cécile d’Angelin, Sciences Po alumnus and Vice President of the Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle Association des Parents d’Elèves, Maëva Slotine, lawyer and architect of the Trust and Stéphane Rambosson, head of Sciences Po Alumni UK, and Stefan Lavau, treasurer of the trust.
The Charity Gala, September 25, Royal Automobile Club, London
Thanks to our sponsors International SOS, Media Tree, Gide Loyrette Nouel and Veni Partners, we could organise the 2008 Charity Gala at the Royal Automobile Club in London.
The aim of this first Charity Gala was to to fund and set up scholarships for outstanding SciencesPo students who want to study in the UK and UK-based students who wish to study at SciencesPo Paris.
All the proceeds from the gala participation went directly to the Sciences Po UK Charity Trust.
The Charity Gala was co-chaired by Sciences Po Director Richard Descoings and the Director of the LSE, Sir Howard Davies, under the sought patronage of Ambassador of France His Excellency Maurice Gourdault-Montagne.
This first Charity Gala aimed at bringing together a variety of leaders and opinion makers, which included French and British representatives of business and academia, Sciences Po alumni, and various influential members of the 300,000-strong French community in London.
